Letter From the President

Happy February!

Our focus this month will be on the Rosary and our activities this month will reflect this focus. Mornings with Mary: A Rosary Drop-In will be held on Mondays, beginning Monday, February 10, 8 a.m. in the Parish Family Center, Room 410.

I also wanted to take a moment to tell you about some upcoming changes on our CCW Board, as certain positions are meeting their 2-year commitment in June.

As of right now, the only position that will remain filled is the Treasurer position, with Ann Englehardt as our Treasurer. Ann is wonderful and we are so thankful for her service.

Both the Secretary position, currently filled by Joy Wallace, and the Vice-President position, currently filled by Emily Mitalas, will be vacant at the end of our operating year in June. Joy and Emily have been with me since the beginning of my presidency and so many projects and activities could not have happened without their dedication and service.

Finally, the President position, which I currently fill, will be vacant in June as well.

These vacancies should not scare anyone and they do not mean that CCW projects and activities cannot continue. In fact, the plan is to carry on as though the board were filled. This will present some challenges, and we are praying that women will step forward to help us carry the banner and move our organization forward. We are only 4 years old, so there is still some growing to do!

We will be actively working to fill our Secretary and Vice President positions. As for the President position, we are looking and praying for the right fit. I will stay on as “Acting President” with a reduced role as I will focus a good amount of my time networking and seeking a fellow sister in Christ to take on the office of SJDR Council of Catholic Women President.
