Each year, the Florida Council of Catholic Women (FlaCCW) hosts the "Hugs for the Homeless" campaign. Each affiliate in our state participates in this campaign. Some affiliates raise money all year long. Others, like us, since we are still so new, allocate a portion of our dues collected to this campaign. For the past three years, our donation has been $200. We are hoping to increase this donation as our membership and programming grows!

The FlaCCW collects these various donations then distributes the money-evenly-back to each Deanery in the state. In our Diocese, we have 5 Council of Catholic Women Deaneries. Our Council belongs to the St. Augustine Deanery.
The incredible part of all of this is even though our donation each year has been $200, through the efforts of our fellow Council Sisters in our Deanery, Diocese and State, we've been able to donate close to, if not over $1,500 for the past several years to a worthy organization/charity directly addressing homelessness in our community.Last year, our donation went to Port in the Storm in St. Augustine - helping the homeless youth in our community. This year, we voted, and our affiliates in our Deanery chose St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS). SAYS empowers kids in our community, regardless of their circumstances.Check them out! www.sayskids.org
